Grounded in my affinity for landscapes, these pieces paid homage to the realm of water. Raised by the expanse of the Great Lakes, I have long been drawn to the allure of smaller water bodies. Ponds, in their subdued elegance, exude a distinctive energy—a quiet yet potent force. They mirror tranquil moments by the water's edge, capturing the essence of serenity. TAKE A CLOSER LOOK
These pieces have a wonderful velvety texture about them. Thick body paint and medium are blended together to create a viscous matte paint that is layered on the wooden surface. One of my favourite things about this technique is the way it sometimes results in a collection of paint along the edges - making them ever so slightly imperfect.
When we give ourselves time to be still next to quiet waters we make space for reflected reveries.
