HOP. SKIP. JUMP.

I am skipping across the pond today.  Hello bonnie Scotland!  I've dug back into my image folders from our trip last June, in search of overlooked gems and found this one.

This was the start of our hike to the fairy pools on the Isle of Skye near Glen Brittle.  (If you missed my post about the fairy pools click here.)  In the photo the stream appears small but it required quite a leap to make it to the other side without getting your feet wet.  Which is irrelevant if you are wearing waterproof hiking shoes.  And we all were.  All of us accept my oldest son that is, he'd left his in the car, which was back up the very steep hill we'd just descended.  But, wet feet are really no big deal.  Unless you are my oldest son.  We waited patiently while he wandered up and down the banks looking for a drier crossing spot.  He finally conceded that there was no better alternative and returned to give this spot his best try.

I think you can guess from the foot prints on the rocks how it ended.

Hopefully any obstacles you encounter will require only a hop skip and jump to pass by. But if you should face more challenging arrangements, may you find yourself prepared with waterproof shoes.  On.  Not in the car.
